JUST IN :LENTEN SEASON OUTREACH: ONDO CAN CHAIRMAN LAUNCHES TUNJI-OJO’S RICE DISTRIBUTION TO CHRISTIAN FAITHFUL

In a remarkable demonstration of compassion and responsive leadership, the spirit of the Lenten season was brought to life in Ondo State as the Honourable Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, facilitated the distribution of bags of rice to the Christian community across the state.

The initiative was formally flagged off by the Ondo State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Anselm Ologunwa, in an event that drew key Christian leaders and stakeholders, symbolizing unity, shared faith, and collective responsibility.

In his remarks, Ologunwa lauded the Minister’s thoughtful intervention, describing it as both timely and impactful, particularly during Lent—a sacred period marked by sacrifice, reflection, and acts of charity. He emphasized that such gestures not only provide material relief but also strengthen hope and solidarity among the faithful.

He further urged political leaders and public office holders to take a cue from this noble example, noting that true leadership is best expressed through tangible efforts that uplift the people and address their immediate needs.

The outreach, which is set to benefit numerous Christian households across Ondo State, underscores the enduring values of love, kindness, and communal support that define the Lenten season.

Representing the Minister at the event was Obadele Olumide, Director General of the Progressives Network for Tinubu (PNT), alongside Prince Adewole Oluwafemi, further reinforcing the collaborative spirit behind the initiative.

This noble act stands as a shining example of purposeful governance—where empathy meets action, and leadership translates into meaningful impact on the lives of the people.
